In 1892 Rudolf Diesel invented what would become known as the diesel engine. This engine would forever change the automotive industry. The diesel engine is capable of functioning on modified vegetable oil or diesel fuel. In the United States crude oil is the most common ingredient in refined diesel fuel. Diesel fuel is most widely used by commercial businesses to deliver products to the market. Commercial machinery and farm machinery also use significant amounts of diesel fuel. In order to understand our economy it is important to understand the role diesel fuel will play in the future.

When diesel fuel is produced it is refined to different levels of distillates or grades. The United States primarily uses distillate No. 2. Distillate No. 2 can also be used for heating and contains a low amount of sulfur. In 2006 low sulfur standards in diesel fuel began to emerge. Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel (ULSD) fuel was created to replace Low Sulfur Diesel (LSD) fuel.

The difference between LSD and ULSD is noticeable in the parts per million (ppm). Low Sulfur Diesel fuel has a maximum of 500 ppm sulfur content. Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel fuel has a maximum of 15 ppm of sulfur. By the year 2010 vehicles on the highway will be required to be 100% ULSD. By the year 2015 it has been predicted that almost all diesel fuel used the United States will be ULSD.

Additional products made from a barrel of crude oilinclude liquified petroleum gases, jet fuel, heavy fuel oil, heating oil, diesel fuel and gasoline. These components and others can be combined to produce a substance known as biodiesel. Biodiesel can be made from animal fats, vegetable oils or recycled restaurant grease. Because biodiesel is biodegradable it can improve theemmisions of particulate gases such as, carbon monoxide and hydrocarbons.

Diesel is used in almost all semi-trucks, delivery vehicles, trains, buses, boats, farms and constructionequipment. In the year 2007 75% of diesel fuel was used by on highway vehicles. The remaining 25% was used by off highway equipment such as construction and farming and motors in military, railroad, heating equipment and marine water crafts.

Retail diesel fuel comes from a variety of locations. In 2007 about 4.5% of the diesel fuel used in the US came from foreign countries, primarily the Virgin Islands and Canada. The remaining amountwas produced in U.S. refineries. Also in 2007 66% of the crude oil used to produce diesel fuel in U.S. refineries was imported fromforeign countries. Most diesel fuel is transported bybarge, rail or pipeline from refineries to major consuming areas where it is loaded and delivered by tanker trucks to service stations across the country.

Due to increased demand and a decrease in production diesel fuel has cost more than gasoline since September of 2004. Worldwide demand for diesel fuel has steadily been increasing in Chine, Europe and the U.S. Production has suffered because of the transition to Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel fuel in the U.S. The Federal excise tax also contributes to the price difference. The tax for diesel is six cents higher than for gasoline.

Factors that contribute to price fluctuations include cost and supply of crude oil. As more countries become more modernized their demand for distillate fuels increases. The Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) sets a maximum production limit on 40% of the world’s crude oil. OPEC controls approximately two-thirds of the world’s crude oil reserves. This means that international news effecting OPEC countriesmay have significant effects on the production of crude oil. Diminishing the supply while demand continues to skyrocket.

Responsible drivers understand the need for car insurance. But if you’re gong to be responsible, then be smart too. Car insurance cover can be expensive, so it’s best to do all you can to keep your premiums low without sacrificing necessary cover. Before you sign up for a policy, review these tips for finding the right policy at the right price.

The best way to find the right policy is the shop around. Compare insurance quotes from at least three companies, or you can get a broker to do it for you. And don’t just look at price. Cheapest is not necessarily best. Be sure the policy offers the cover you need at a price you can afford.

Business use of your vehicle will result in higher monthly premiums, so if at all possible, insure your car for private purposes only. If you must use your car for business purposes, try to limit it to occasional use.

Avoiding accidents avoids higher premiums. Safe drivers are usually rewarded with lower premiums or discounts from their insurers. If you have a history of being claim-free, ask your insurer for a discount or shop for a better premium with a new carrier.

Most insurers will discount your premium if you increase your excess amount on your vehicle. Just be sure that you can afford the pay the excess in the event of an accident.

When you shop for a car, keep your insurance premium budget in mind. High performance vehicles are seen as a greater risk, and therefore have higher premiums. Expensive cars are also more costly to insure because of the cost of replacement parts.

Check to see if the insurer offers discounts for security measures. If so, upgrade by installing anti-highjack devices, gearlocks or tracking devices in your vehicle. Usually, if the level of security is higher than the insurance company requires, you will receive a discount.

Location is important for more than real estate. If you live in a high-crime area, your premiums will reflect the increased risk that your vehicle could be stolen or highjacked with higher rates.

Also, a vehicle parked on the street overnight is at higher risk of being stolen or vandalized than one parked in a locked garage. See if your insurer will give you a discount for parking your car in a garage or behind locked gates over night.

Limit the number of people allowed to drive your car. The fewer people you authorize to drive your car the easier it will be for the insurance company to calculate their risk.

Don’t accept the first offer an insurance company gives you. Most insurance companies are flexible with their premiums. Don’t be afraid to ask for a discount or additional cover at no additional cost. If the company really wants your business, they will work to accommodate you.

Resources for finding car insurance abound. In fact, you can be overwhelmed by the choices available. Remember to keep your head and keep the above points in mind.

If you're wondering whether you need car insurance, it is best to begin with a discussion of what it is and what it does.

by Susan Renolds

If you’re wondering whether you need car insurance, it is best to begin with a discussion of what it is and what it does.

In its basic form, car insurance provides protection against financial losses incurred as a result of an accident, theft or damage to your vehicle. You and the insurer both have certain rights and obligations in the event of an accident, and these are spelled out in your contract, or policy.

Car insurance takes three forms to meet the needs of individual drivers.

The minimum legal level of insurance is called Third Party or liability cover. This type covers your liabilities with respect to third parties such as people other than yourself who are injured in an accident, or other people’s property damaged in an accident deemed your fault.

The second is Third Party, Fire and Theft and covers the situations mentioned above and adds cover for theft and damage to your vehicle caused by theft and fire.

Comprehensive Car Insurance adds to the above with cover for accidental damage to your vehicle, vandalism, personal accident, limited medical expenses, damage or loss of personal property carried in your vehicle, and replacement of your vehicle in the first year.

In the UK, as in most countries, car insurance is required by the law, so, in answer to your original question, if you drive a car, you need car insurance. In addition, it is a serious crime to drive your car or allow others to drive your car without insurance. In fact, doing so could earn you a stay in prison, especially if you are involved in an accident.

Now, with a basic knowledge of insurance and its coverage types, you can see why it is compulsory for all drivers. Every time you get behind the wheel, you take the risk of damage to your car, to yourself and to other’s property in your own hands.

New or young drivers will find their insurance premiums higher than those of experienced drivers for obvious reasons. But it is possible to bring your premiums down.

First, take and pass a drivers’ safety course, or the Pass Plus Driving Exam. Designed for new and young card drivers, these intensive training courses show young drivers how to be better drivers. If you pass, you can receive up to 35% off your car insurance premiums.

Another option is to pay a higher excess or deductible. This represents your portion of the financial responsibility when you have a claim. Insurers have minimum excess amounts, but if you volunteer a higher amount, you may save on your premiums.

Research several companies, their cover and their premiums. It is possible to see a substantial savings on your premiums just by comparing the companies against each other - even for young drivers. It is easiest to get information and quotes online. If you decide to buy your policy online, you may receive a discount for that as well.

Also, consider paying your premium at once rather than quarterly or monthly. Most car insurance companies charge interest, some up to 30%, when you pay in installments.

by Dave Bern

If you are thinking of buying either a new or used car it is sensible to invest some money in a car warranty because this could save you money if the vehicle breaks down or parts need replacing. Before you buy a warranty for a new or used vehicle there are certain things that need to be taken into consideration first.

In order to find the most suitable car warranty plan for you we offer a few tips below to help you.

1. When buying a used vehicle first check to make sure that the manufacturer’s original warranty is still valid as normally with vehicles less than three years old this is generally the case. However, if you are purchasing the vehicle from a dealer and the warranty has expired they may offer you a short term warranty for free or elsewhere enquire if it is possible to purchase an extended warranty instead.

2. Ask to see a copy of the owner’s manual as this will tell you everything you need to know about the general warranty conditions for the vehicle. The general warranty provided by the manufacturer will either cover the owner of the vehicle for a three year period or 36,000 miles depending on which is reached sooner. Normally the warranty will list the parts of the vehicle which are covered by it.

3. Look for those vehicles where you can get an extended or power train warranty which cover the vehicle for 60 months or 60,000 miles. However, although some companies offer such warranties as standard many cannot be purchased until after the original warranty on the vehicle has expired.

4. Whether you are purchasing an extended warranty for a new or used car you need to make sure you do so from a company that is reputable such as CNA Auto Warranty, Carchex Auto Warranty or Wynn’s Auto Warranty. One that has been provided such plans for some considerable and who offer their clients a number of different ones to select from. Plus choose on that allows you to read through the terms and conditions fully before signing and if you are unsatisfied offers a money back guarantee as well as allows you to use it wherever you are.

5. It is vital that you read the plan through carefully before signing on the dotted line. As well as long at the length of time the car warranty is valid for look to see what limitations there if any on making claims. A car is quite a large investment you will be making so you want a warranty that really is going to protect it.

You need to remember that any car warranty you get is not going to provide a guarantee of how long the car will last for, but is to assure that you that the car was in good condition when purchased. So you need to be aware that there are certain limitations on the kinds of claims that can be made under such warranties and if you mishandle or abuse the vehicle these may well not be covered by it. So this is another reason why you need to read through the document carefully before agreeing to it.

If you are searching for a number of auto insurance quotes in the state of Michigan you may want to take your attention first to the web as most of the main Michigan insurance agencies have a lot of the information available there.

by Tomi Bombay

If you are searching for a number of auto insurance quotes in the state of Michigan you may want to take your attention first to the web as most of the main Michigan insurance agencies have a lot of the information available there. You should even be able to find the Michigan rate freely available.

If you are a car owner seeking auto insurance in Michigan, you can use the Internet to find the available information about rates as well as how to open a policy.

Low Rates Are Available

The web really is our best friend, you may not think anything of it now but can you imagine trying to tell someone to check out and apply for their insurance online only maybe 10 years ago, nevertheless that is the case today and it will allow you to do some very quick and easy comparison shopping.

Additionally if you hop online you should be able to find the individual rates for the different towns in the state of Michigan.

You should not expect to pay much less or more than around $4000 on your Michigan insurance premium.

This was also applicable four years back, but even today there are still many premium rates that fall below this average, because of the stiff competition existing between different car insurance companies in Michigan.

Thus, you can save a lot on your insurance premium if you avail of the many insurance quotes available from various auto insurance agencies.

Neglecting to open a policy will put your well-being in danger, and place unnecessary financial burden on your shoulders, not to mention the stress of worrying whether you are going to get found out at anytime.

All or at least most states of United States of America have their own insurance policies and Michigan State is no different, in Michigan there is such a thing as a no-fault policy where the car owner can receive insurance compensation regardless of whether he was to blame for the accident or not (there are of course limitations to this).

When you choose your auto insurance in Michigan, do so taking into account all factors and not just based on the cheapest rates available. This way you can be sure you are really getting the best deal.

I recently sold my car on stumblehere.com. I was very surprised by this, thinking that since this was not a name of a website that I was familiar with. I was scared that I was wasting my time. Well I will be the first to tell you how wrong I was.

It all started when I posted on craigslist an ad for my 2005 truck. Not long after I posted my ad I received a call from someone who had used stumblehere.com. I am sure that he was used to people not being happy about his phone call to them and I was along with that crowd.

I did not want to listen to some sales speach about how stumblehere was a place to sell my stuff. The last thing I wanted to do was post more ads.

But I finally listened and decided to try out the classified ad syndication. I learned that ad syndication is all about getting my ad on all of the high traffic sites. As long as my stuff sells I am happy.

So I went to the stumblehere.com website and posted a classified ad. I then upgraded it to make it a featured ad on their site and added ad syndication. I wanted to get my ad on as many websites as possible.

Well I will only use Stumblehere from here on. I found the most success that I have ever had posting with Stumblehere than ever before. My representative said it would take from 24 to 48 hours for all the added postings to places on other sites. Well I had so many calls on my van I was able to sell it for the amount I wanted and needed. Stumblehere and their option Betterpost have a customer for life.

There is no way, short of being a professional, that you can escape a few legal issues when you are involved in an auto crash. Some dudes just get you on the noose and continue to tighten. You don’t get off without an attorney. They are always able to make it happen for you.

Ignorance of the law, they say is no excuse. A sticky situation could potentially drown you on the highway. But not if you are equipped with the potentials of a good car accident attorney. They know the law, at least, in ways that you never could. You would want to trust them.

The great thing about the American system is that there are specialists ad professionals for everything. Say, you get in to an auto car crash, for example. You could simply call a car crash lawyer and they would do the legalities for you. I wouldn’t try to weather these waters without one.

You could be involved in an auto accident anytime, no matter how careful you are. It is nice to have a lawyer you can call when this happens. Otherwise, you could leaf through the yellow pages for a car accident lawyer. For a small retainer, they’ll wade you through any legal trouble that may come your way from the accident.

Car accident lawyers are lawyers that have decided to specialize in the arm of the law that deal with road and traffic incidents. Certainly they can and will be involved in a lot of other things, but when there is a car crash issue in particular that you need attended to, they are the ones you want to call.

That it was your fault or not, many lawyers do not really worry much. It is enough to them that you were in the car accident. Now they want to get you out; just shut up and follow their lead. Sometimes that is just how the law works.

Experienced lawyers are available any and everywhere. Even if you did not have one on your payroll already, you could get them by searching on the Internet or in the directory. A car accident is bad enough, but dealing with one without a lawyer is totally foolhardy.

Because of a car accident you are involved in, you might have to part with some money. However, without a car accident lawyer, you might be letting yourself pay for more than what you were supposed to pay. With the lawyer, all the uncertainties are done away with. You get to pay only what you were supposed to pay, if you end up paying anything at all.

You are not safe driving a car if the car is not insured, and I’m not talking just about you hitting someone. What if you got hit by someone; what if you got robbed? Then you’ll be all by yourself indeed, with a fat bill to pay.

In many jurisdictions all over the world, especially in the U.S., laws make it compulsory to have vehicle insurance if you are going to be using a car at all. As a matter of fact, it is not unusual to have the insurance sold to you right at the point of purchase of the vehicle.

Some government policies are designed to save you in spite of yourself. There are certain edicts that are put in place that enforce you to have an amount of insurance coverage on your car. The least allowable is often third-party insurance, where the other guy gets treated if he’s hurt, and the insurance company pays for it.

The amount of coverage you can get with your automobile insurance is all weighted on the premium you are paying. Sometimes all you are getting is the repair to the car of the other person, and not yours. Sometimes all you get is the medical bill paid for. But if you can afford it, then you can have all of it.

Liability coverage in car insurance can have up to three or more categories. First, a single person can be covered, and then any number of persons in the accident, and the third part is damage to other person’s property. At least if that is available, you can begin to work something else out about your own property.

A friend recently had his car stolen. I was worried when I heard about it, but then I had a word with him, and I realized that he was on the lucky side. He had had the car insured for theft. Lucky him. Don’t hesitate to get your car insured today. It’s the best thing you can do for yourself and your car, of course.

When a lot of people are hurt in a car crash, somebody has to pay. Without good car insurance, you could be that poor sitting duck. Armed with the right car insurance, even though you might be responsible for the accident, you could have your insurance firm take care of the bills. But first you need the insurance.

The high premiums charged by many insurance companies for auto insurance in the United States acts in no small way as a deterrent to many drivers. True, few people fail to see the importance of the package, but at the prices charged, many choose to take their chances.

Car accidents never cause damages that are cheap to repair. The bill often runs into thousands. Something like that might break you back, but if your car was insured, you wouldn’t worry so much, would you?

Most provinces in Canada operate on laws similar to those in the United States. Your vehicle for instance has to have insurance at a minimum level otherwise you are not allowed to drive it. Mostly they require a good amount of liability coverage from your insurance firm, for covering the combined costs of bodily injury and property damage claims.

There are very few states in the US that do not have prepared insurance packages for cars. It is a basic understanding that these things are sure to happen - the accidents. And so, preparations to have the damages sorted out by an insurance policy have to be put in place.

It is amazing how people turn their backs on facts. How could anyone see or hear of a package like insurance and not seek to have coverage for their car? Beats me. In the United States, there is a car crash almost every hour. It is only a question of time before it comes around to just about anyone. Car insurance is really essential for anyone that has a car today.

You could decide to be wise or ignorant - the choice s always yours. With a package like auto insurance available for anyone interested, your choice of action regarding it would make a big difference about what you are choosing to be. Needless to say, you would have been pretty ignorant if you chose to overlook it.

You could get any type of auto insurance coverage you want as long as you can pay for it. One is medical treatment coverage, while another is collision coverage. Then there’s comprehensive. Hey, they vary by size and, of course, by prize. You should simply pick the one that your bank account fits with. But don’t let it be the cheapest.

You know without having to be told that car insurance is an important thing for you and for your vehicle. Cars are expensive enough in the U.S. today to warrant your being that cautious. Whatever it is that you are waiting for, do not let it lapse until something untoward happens to you. Get your car insured right away, if you haven’t already.

Everywhere in the world, we have people who stick with the law, and we have those who flout it. Then again, we have people who play games with the law. Take in the UK, for instance, you can’t own a vehicle without auto insurance; and you must have the certificate of it on your windshield like all the time.

Accidents are inevitable; people get involved in accidents all the time. The difficult part is getting out of the fixes that we get ourselves in with a simple fender bender. With an attorney-at-law, our chances improve. Without one, we’re dead meat, most of the time.

A car crash can be dicey, especially when the lines of guilt aren’t clear cut. But a car accident lawyer can clear the lines out with a few words, or he can make them blurrier, that’s what works better in your favor, if you are the culprit. His business is to get you off, and he’ll do it with whatever it takes.

If you seek legal assistance from a car accident lawyer, it is because you have been in a car accident, or you have friend or family who has. The way to do it is to pick up the Yellow Pages, find an address, and dial. All they ask for most of the time is just a meager retainer, and their services are yours for the asking.

In almost all countries in the world people are ignorant of the law. You never know until you are in some kind of trouble like, say, an auto accident. Out of the blues, you up to your neck in legal issues that you have no clue about. It is a blessing that there are so many car accident lawyers around the country. Where would you be without them?

Any damage to life, limb or property caused by an auto accident is the responsibility of insurance. The problem you can have here is that the insurance company could stall until you have paid for everything out of your own pocket. An attorney who is especially good with car crashes might just be your salvation here. Get one.

Your legal backing is the only strength you have in a car crash. In the interest of all that is good for you, you want to listen to what the lawyer advises you, and stick to it to the letter. Do this and you will do better than getting off with your life; you will be getting off with your dignity intact.

An accident lawyer is the one who will make your day right after a car crash. Most times, you find thecops are all over the place, taking notes and making trouble. They naturally want to put the blame on somebody in a hurry. You are sitting duck without your car accident attorney,

It cannot always be your fault every time you are in a car crash, but the judge might not want to see it that way. So what, you need a car accident lawyer to bail you out the next time. If you don’t get one, you might not like the outcome.
